While the heat of the days in Nxabega took a toll on us, the beauty of the land and great game experiences helped us to continue to get up early. Our companions in the vehicle on Day 3 were Bill and Nicola and of course, our excellent guides Kux and TT.
Our favorite tree was this beautiful Boabab. It was iconic of the Delta. Kux told us that the elephants in the area would likely bring this one down during the next rainy season. Elephants change the land for their benefit and are not necessarily conservationists.
Warthogs always seemed to turn away right as soon as you get ready for the picture...this one wanted to pose.
Nxabega was full of elephants.
Feet up!
Troop of baboons
More pachyderms.

African Fish Eagle
Juvenile River Crocodile
A male zebra with his harem
Another beautiful tree
We took our sundowners near a pond with a couple of aggressive hippo. They were not too pleased with us being nearby.
G&Ts all around.
He wanted to let us know what we were messing with.
Back at the Lodge we enjoyed a warm, buggy Boma dinner and the great hospitality of the Nxabega staff. Once again, they sang for us with the amazing harmonies of the Tswana language. One of the butlers named English was an incredible baritone. It didn't cool off as much that evening and that seemed to inspire the hippos to louder activity over night.
