It was our last full day at Nxabega. We said goodbye to Bill and Nicola (off to their next resort) and Andrea and David (back to London) and went out with the German couple. The entire day was cloudy with threatening clouds. The rainy season would begin very soon and we were hoping that it would wait for us to depart before it got torrential.
Zebra harem. The males are identified by their stout necks and muscular bodies.
Our favorite tree in a different light

Matriarchal Elephant Herd
Giraffe in the distance
We asked to go on another boat excursion on our last evening. Kux told us that we may see hippo, elephant and crocodile, but it was all unlikely. Of course, we saw all three.
Solitary Male Elephant eating water lily roots.
The real jungle cruise
We surprised him. Luckily, he want right back to his dinner.
A very popular tree
Yet another amazing sunset. And a final chance to enjoy a sundowner on the water.
When we made it back to camp, we were told that we'd be "taken to our spot for dinner". The amazing Nxabega staff had set up a private dinner for us outside of our tent. They came to sing songs of congratulations and thanked us for staying with them on our honeymoon. Even the brief rain shower didn't detract from the great experience.
They decorated our bed for our final night in Nxabega.
A special dessert was prepared for us. We insisted that the staff share with us after we took a picture.
During our last night in Nxabega we actually heard the lion that we'd been unable to find for the past several days. While we were excited to leave for Cape Town the next day, we were definitely sad to be leaving Botswana and the African Bush.
